FAQ

Questions about 3.5 x 8.5 booklets

How fast will I get my booklets?

Order by 12pm and your booklets ship the next business day from our East Coast or West Coast location, whichever is closer to you. With free FedEx 2Day® on orders $99+, most orders arrive about 3 business days after you order. Enter your ZIP code above to see your estimated delivery date and shipping cost before you add to cart.

Delivery is covered by our On-Time Delivery Guarantee: if we're running behind on our end, we upgrade your shipping to overnight at our cost.

Will I see a proof before you print?

Yes. Every order gets a proof to approve before we print, and that step is already counted in the next-business-day ship time. Want to see the real thing first? Choose the free printed sample video: we print one copy of your booklet and send you a video of it to approve before the full run (adds about one business day).

How many pages can my booklet have?

Anywhere from 8 to 96 pages, in steps of 4 (8, 12, 16, 20 and so on). Each folded sheet makes 4 pages, so the page count always includes the front and back covers: an 8-page booklet is 4 cover pages plus 4 inside pages. If your file is a page or two short, add blank or notes pages to reach the next multiple of 4.

What's the difference between a self cover and a separate cover?

A self cover is printed on the same paper as the inside pages, which keeps the booklet light and affordable. A separate cover is printed on heavier cardstock (80 lb or 100 lb cover, or 14 pt) so the booklet feels sturdier and holds up to more handling.

Which paper should I choose?

Gloss makes photos pop and is the most popular choice for catalogs and magazines. Matte has low glare and is easy to read, which suits text-heavy reports. Opaque Smooth is uncoated, so it's easy to write on and has very little show-through, which is great for workbooks and manuals. A higher lb number means thicker paper.

What is square-back binding, and does it cost extra?

Booklets with 40 or more pages are bound square-back at no extra charge. The spine is pressed flat and square, so thick booklets lie flatter, stack neatly and look like a finished book. They're still bound with the same wire staples.

How should I set up my file?

Upload a PDF with one page per page, in reading order, at your booklet's finished size plus 0.125" bleed on every side. Keep text and logos inside the safe zone. Our free print template above shows the trim, bleed and safe zone, and there's a PNG version for Canva.

I don't have a print-ready file. Can I still order?

Yes. Choose "Order now, email file later" and send your file in any format after checkout. We'll prepare it for print and send you a proof to approve before anything is printed.

What if something is wrong with my order?

Every order is covered by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If there's a print or finishing defect, we'll reprint and reship your order for free or refund you in full. Just email support@bklet.com within 30 days with your order number and a few photos.

Do you offer bulk pricing?

Yes. The price per booklet drops as your quantity goes up; you can see the savings in the run size table above. For more than 2,500 booklets per line, or anything custom, request a custom estimate and we'll get back to you quickly.

Do you ship outside the US?

Not yet. We currently ship within the United States only, from our East Coast and West Coast locations.
